87th Hurst Horticultural Show - 19 August
This popular event which includes a Dog Show and music,
will take place from 1.30pm in the grounds of the Village Hall in School Road.
A total of 137 classes means that there's something for everyone from beginners to experts.
Schedules are available on the village web-site and from the Village Shop.
Entries close on 16 August.
The Horticultural Show includes 81 classes for flowers, pot plants, fruit and vegetables,
and 56 classes in home industries - including photography, cakes, preserves, wine, eggs honey -
and the famous Men's Apple Flan class which always attracts a high standard of entries.
There will be class for everyone to enter, from children through to the "young at heart".
Entries will be staged by l0am to allow judging during the morning.
The Dog Show will be held in the field behind the Village Hall from 12 noon (entries on the field).
The Horticultural Show will be open to public from 1.30pm.

As the Newsletter went to press, organiser Terry Bunyard said:
"After 21 years of hard work, it's time that we gave someone else the chance to organise it.
There will be a show next year, but probably in a different location,
and we need to find a few more people to work on the committee."

H.V.S. Committee Meetings
will be held on the following dates:
2 August, 13 September, 25 October, 6 December, 17 January, 28 February, 4 April.
The AGM will be held on 2 March 2001.
