Family History Search

Does anyone know any history to the Aldridge family in Hurst? Caroline Mannix is tracing her relatives including a John Aldridge whose father Richard rented farms in Hurst.

Caroline has seen a Family Bible of the Aldridge family in which the main entry states: "Mr. Richard Aldridge, a farmer in Hurst Parish Berkshire and rented all the farms in that parish at one time in the year 1760, whose family consisted as follows:- Elizabeth, Richard, Susannah, Phyllis, Ann, Mary, Kitty, John."

Her line of the family, John Aldridge, moved to Surrey but she would like to find out more about Richard. From research that she has done already, she believes that Richard married Susannah Cartland in 1771 in Cookham, and their eldest child was born in Cookham. Daughter Ann was born in Bray, but all the other children, including John, were born in Hurst.
