Mobile Youth Club in the village every Thursday

The mobile youth club, fully equipped with computers linked to the Internet, PlayStation, record decks, a video camera and a coffee bar visits Hurst every Thursday evening. The first session on 27 March at the Village Hall attracted 23 young people from the village. The club is located either at the recreation area by the pond or the Village Hall car park. The club will have skateboard ramps available for use later this spring.

Youth worker Leigh Middleton is pleased with the response and is now looking for adult volunteers to help run the youth club. No previous experience is necessary as training will be provided, and some people could opt to become part-time staff. Help is needed to organise projects which young people have said they would like to do, and to run the coffee bar and cyber café. Anyone who would like to know more about the youth club or volunteer to help out should contact Nigel Shaw on 0118 974 xxxx.
