The Blea family at The Castle

David Brighton of Beech in Hampshire has contacted the Village Society to find out more about the Blea family who lived at The Castle Inn during the mid-1800s.

David’s great great grandmother Ann Blea was one of eight children including her brothers William (born 1820), George (born c1822) and Thomas (born 1835). One of the brothers is thought to have been a landlord at The Castle around 1870, and the pub was in the Blea family for many years.
