Local History and Parish Register

We are really excited that local historian Henry Farrar has allowed us to publish on our website his wonderful “CD-ROM of Hurst”. This in-depth history of our village and surrounding area has been updated and made available as an online resource.

The website also includes entries from the Hurst Parish Register, detailing Births, Marriages and Deaths in the village from the mid 1500s to the late 19th Century. This has been made possible by a mammoth feat of perseverance by Henry Farrar who acquired several shoeboxes full of index cards and typed in all of these records. We believe that we are one of the first parishes in the country to have such comprehensive records available on-line.
