Vandalism in Hurst ...
Gerald Penney, chairman of the Parish Council,
reports on a very sorry situation.
Two picnic tables were installed at the School Road
playing fields specifically for us to all enjoy the park
or to watch our children in the play area.
On the night of 1 May one of these tables was destroyed.
This must have taken some considerable time and effort
as not only was the table robustly made but the feet were concreted into the ground.
The remnants have been left for anyone to see the carnage for themselves.
Additionally the waste bin at Tape Lane has been wrenched from its foundation
and the one near School Road has been kicked in.
If you have any information of vandalism in the village please contact the Police.
After all it is your property.
... and at Twyford Station
Kevin Cottrell writes:
Recently my car was broken into at Twyford station.
I was one of five that day.
The Police tell me that this happens at least once a week
but the quality of the video surveillance equipment is not good enough
to identify the culprits.
Has this happened to you?
If so I would like to hear from you to establish how many residents of the village
have been affected with a view to persuading the owners of the car park
to man it adequately.
Please ring me, on 934 xxxx, or write to me if you too have suffered and what,
if anything, happened.
